Gashura - 24.09.2019 - DEFAULT /

  1. Written-By – Ed Wynne (tracks: 3 to 5, 9), Ozric Tentacles (tracks: 1, 2, 6 to 8) Notes Tracks 5 and 9 are extra tracks for the CD release that did not appear on the original vinyl/5(56).
  2. All I can say is, wow, it's not often that I hear a band that I like so much that I buy up all their CDs in a few weeks. I'm a big fan of complex rock music (like Rush); I also like ambient "electronic" music (Global Communication, Peter Gabriel's 'Passion' CD). Ozric Tentacles bridges the /5(75).
  3. I remember first listening to Ozric Tentacles in the early 90s whilst at college doing my A-Levels. A fellow student recommended them to me after I'd told him of my love of prog rock and other groups, such as Tangerine Dream. 'Erpland' was the first album I bought and I was mesmirised/5(76).
  4. Ozric Tentacles homage to hallucinogen sounds of 70s progressive space rock is overflowing and in constant motion, indeed. After years of self-produced audio cassettes, Erpland is the definitive maturation of their ironic and funny instrumental music, without any intellectual claim/5(3).
  5. Dec 20,  · In the beginning ozric sold only casettes at their live gigs, in they signed up with demi monde and released this album. After some problems with the label owner they founded dovetail records in , released 'erpland' and rereleased 'Pungent Effulgent'/5(40).
  6. I happen to own three versions of this, the original on Dovetail, the reissue on Snapper, and the Snapper reissue with the CD, and additional DVD that includes Live at the Fridge (recorded in and originally released on VHS without the band knowing about it).
  7. And Ozric Tentacles delivered their magnum opus. When you reach the top of your game of course, there’s usually one way to go. The next album, Strangeitude, was musically maybe even more accomplished, but containing only six tracks it was impossible to come anywhere near the diversity and wealth of Erpland.
  8. Ozric Tentacles have developed an impressive following during their existence, defying every attempt to pigeonhole them as one thing or another -- the best approach is simply to abandon all categories and go with the flow. That said, this CD release treats the music with great respect, and sounds wonderful.
